What is CurrenSeek Pick-up Service?

CurrenSeek’s Pick-up Service is a Malaysia-only service provided by Intuitive Asset Sdn Bhd (creator of CurrenSeek) in partnership with Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd, Malaysia’s leading money services business and wholesale banknotes solution provider, and Bank Muamalat Berhad which allows you to order and pay for foreign currency notes online and then collect the physical foreign currency notes at convenient CurrenSeek pick-up points. For example, you can book and pay to collect at Malaysia’s KLIA2 airport terminal on your scheduled travel date up to a maximum of 180 days in advance.

Who can use this service?

As long as you are 18 years old and above, possess any of the following ID types and have a valid Individual Internet Banking account with a Malaysian Bank, which is supported by the FPX payment gateway.

  • Old or New IC
  • Passport
  • Army/Police
  • Temporary or Permanent Resident

Is there any charge for the service?

No, there is no service charge.

What are the available payment methods?

Direct debit from your Malaysian savings or current account via the FPX payment gateway (online Internet Banking).

IS MY MONEY SAFE WHEN I PAY IN ADVANCE?

Definitely! Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd ensures that your funds will be only used to fulfil your order. It’s similar to shopping online where you have to pay in advance for goods.

What is the maximum time ahead I can select during order placement?

You can book up to 180 days in advance of your pick up date.

What is the minimum notice period for making an Order?

Currently, all orders must be placed at least 72 hours in advance of the intended pick up time. Please ensure you leave sufficient time to pick up your currency and catch your flight. These requirements may change in the future so check back for updates or subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to get our updates!

Is there any cut-off time for my order?

No, as long as the order is placed with a minimum of 72 hours notice.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TRANSACTION AMOUNT I CAN ORDER?

The minimum order is MYR 300 and the maximum allowed is currently the equivalent of MYR 30,000.

IS YOUR WEBSITE SECURE?

Our platform is secured by 256-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, the same level of encryption used by banks to ensure the highest level of security while transacting online. This means that any information passed between your device (e.g., computers, laptops, smartphone, tablets, etc.) and our platform cannot be read by a third party. Also, we do not store any credit card or banking information in our system. We use FPX Payment Gateway, a secure and reputable processor owned by Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet), which has Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) as the largest shareholder and eleven other Malaysian banks as joint shareholders. Look for the green padlock icon to the left of your browser address bar, which symbolizes that a trusted certificate authority has legally verified CurrenSeek for your peace of mind.

How will I know that my order has been accepted?

You will receive notification in your browser session and via email once your order and payment have been accepted successfully. The email will be sent to the email account you provide during the ordering process.

When & where can I collect my foreign currency at KLIA airport terminal?

CurrenSeek’s pick-up point is at Bank Muamalat located at Level 2, Lot No. S6-2-A24, International Departure Level (Airside) in KLIA2 which operates 24 hours daily from Monday to Sunday, including public holidays.

Can I sell foreign currencies through CurrenSeek Pick-up Service?

No. You cannot currently sell foreign currencies through CurrenSeek Pick-up service.

How do I collect the physical foreign currency notes at CurrenSeek's pick-up point?

Please provide your official ID and the Booking number on the payment confirmation details page, which will also be sent to you via email. Both must match with the collector’s details entered during the ordering process. Verification will be performed at the CurrenSeek pickup point and the officer will pass the foreign currency notes to you once the verification is successful.

What should I do upon the collection of the physical foreign currency?

Upon providing your identification document, the officer will take a copy of you ID and furnish you a receipt for you to sign to acknowledge the receipt of the foreign currency notes.

Who can collect the physical foreign currency notes at CurrenSeek pick-up point?

The collector stated in the collector’s detail during ordering must collect the physical notes. No third-party collection is allowed. Should the details of the collector vary from the details in the system, the officer has the right to seek alternative identification or proceed to cancel the transaction at their discretion.

Can I update the collector’s details after I have completed the order?

No, you are not allowed to update collector’s details after submitting an order, so please thoroughly check your details before confirming your order.

What are the currencies offered in this service?

The currencies offered may vary by location and time, so please check online for availability at the time of making an order.

Can I reschedule my collection date if there is any change in my trip or flight?

Send an alert to the Metro Money Exchange’s customer support via the CurrenSeek’s browser based booking interface you used to place an order and they will try and accommodate your request, provided there is sufficient time to handle the change and it is longer than the minimum notice period of 72 hours.

When and how can I get back my refund, if I am unable to pick up my currency at the airport?

Once I have made my booking, can the exchange rate used change?

No worries, once you have a confirmed order and paid for the Booking, the exchange rate used for the exchange will remain fixed.

What is FPX?

FPX is an internet based payment gateway that allows real-time payments for online purchases or bill payments. FPX is operated by Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet). (PayNet) is the parent company of the PayNet Group which has two main subsidiaries namely, Malaysian Electronic Payment System Sdn Bhd (MEPS) and MEPS Currency Management Sdn Bhd (MCM). Do I have to register before making a payment with FPX?

No FPX registration is required. You can use FPX straightaway as long as you have an active Internet banking account with any of the FPX participating banks.

What Banks are supported?

Currently, FPX is offered by the following FPX participating Banks http://www.paynet.my/fpx/banks-tpa.html

What must I have before I can make payments with FPX?

You’ll need an Internet Banking account, a mobile phone that can receive SMS messages and an Internet connection with an access to the CurrenSeek’s browser based booking interface.

Can I use my business bank account?

FPX service is only available for individual Internet Banking customers. It is not open to Sole Proprietors and Small Business customers.

Is my transaction via FPX really secure?

FPX uses high standards of authentication and certification to ensure all transactions are secure.

What is availability of FPX services?

Currently FPX service is available 24 hours* daily at most of the FPX participating banks.

*Depending on the participating banks’ Internet banking service availability.

Does payment via FPX require TAC?

Majority of the Malaysian banks are provide a second level of security before you are allowed to perform the online payment. So, after selecting your bank from the list of the FPX participating banks, sign in to your online banking account, if you see TAC is required, you should tap on [Request a TAC number] link to request the bank to send a TAC number to the mobile phone number which has registered with the bank and Click [Continue] button to continue.

Will I have to provide my Bank Account information to Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd?

No personal banking details will be captured by the CurrenSeek’s browser based booking interface or given to Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd. All the information entered to complete the payment is via your secure direct Internet Banking service.

Will I receive transaction confirmation when I pay online?

Yes, once the payment has been made from your internet banking account a transaction status receipt will be sent to the email address you provide before you authorise the payment. You can also find the transaction confirmation in the CurrenSeek mobile app or the CurrenSeek’s browser based booking interface.

Where can I view my payment transactions?

You may check your account balance and transaction history via your Internet Banking service or the transaction history through the CurrenSeek’s browser based booking interface to see what payments you have made via FPX using the CurrenSeek’s browser based booking interface.

Do I have to make the payment in advance?

Yes. You must pay in advance to Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd.

I have made a payment using FPX, how can I know that my payment is successful?

There are 3 methods in which you will be able to know that your FPX transaction is successful:
1.  Online receipt provided by FPX.
2.  Email notification sent by FPX system (provided that you have entered your email address at FPX bank selection page).
3.  Receipt provided by Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd and recorded in the CurrenSeek’s browser based booking interface.

While making payment using FPX, I have received an error / unsuccessful message. However, the money has been deducted from my bank account. What should I do?

In the event that your account has been deducted but the transaction was marked as unsuccessful for some reasons, your money will be credited back into your account by your Bank. You can contact your Bank for the reversal status by providing the FPX Transaction ID or Merchant Order No. as a reference. You can also provide a screenshot of your payment that displays the FPX Transaction ID or Merchant Order No via the CurrenSeek’s browser based booking interface.

Can I cancel a successful FPX transaction?

No. It is not possible to cancel a successful FPX transaction via the system. However, you may request Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd for such cancelation, subject to the Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd’s cancellation & refund policy. Metro Money Exchange Sdn Bhd may buy your foreign currency at the prevailing at board rate.

How long will it take to complete the payment online and receive confirmation?

This is dependent on your provider Bank, but it should only take a few minutes and the payment is made and confirmed immediately.

What happens if I have insufficient funds in my account?

Your transaction will be rejected.

Are payments debited from my account on the same day?

Yes, it is done immediately
